What is a Ovulation Calculator?
An ovulation calculator predicts the days in your menstrual cycle when you are most likely to be fertile — specifically, the 5 days before ovulation and the day of ovulation itself. This fertile window is the only time in each cycle when pregnancy is possible.
Ovulation typically occurs about 14 days before the start of your next period. For a 28-day cycle, that is around day 14. For a 32-day cycle, it would be around day 18. The calculator adjusts based on your cycle length.
While ovulation calculators are useful for planning, they are estimates based on average cycle patterns. Stress, illness, travel, and hormonal changes can shift ovulation timing. Ovulation predictor kits (OPKs) that detect the LH surge provide more reliable same-cycle confirmation.
