What is a Salary Calculator?

A salary calculator converts your compensation between different pay periods — annual, monthly, biweekly, weekly, daily, and hourly. This is essential when comparing job offers that quote different pay structures, or when budgeting based on your actual take-home frequency.

The standard full-time work year is 2,080 hours (40 hours per week × 52 weeks). However, if you work more or fewer hours, the calculator adjusts accordingly. Salaried employees are paid the same regardless of hours worked, while hourly employees are paid for each hour.

When comparing a salaried position to an hourly one, be sure to account for benefits, overtime eligibility, and paid time off. A $60,000 salary with full benefits may be worth more than a $35/hour contract position with no benefits.
